Episode #18: How to start the school year without losing your mind

Updated: Mar 30, 2021

Hey Teachers of Littles out there!

This week’s episode is all about back-to-school! It’s going to be busy, busy, busy, but I’ve got some great stuff for you guys to help you through this unique season.

Some years we are on fire and everything is just going right. Guess what? I’m giving you permission to deem this year to be an Okay Year too. We are being looked to by our Littles’ families to provide answers, which are harder to give this year. I’m giving you guys three secret podcast episodes this week as a freebie -- it’s a back-to-school bootcamp with tips on how to get back into the flow of school and use play as reconnection, and this info will grow with you guys throughout the rest of the year as well.

I also touched on socio-emotional learning again this week -- remember, peeps, “Emotions are not bad behavior!” I always say that home is the first school, and that we are partners with parents. We will probably be parent-coaching a lot as we get to know everyone’s needs this year, so don’t neglect your own self-care while you are helping your Littles and their families.

So brew yourself a cup of tea and listen in on the full podcast here:

This episode is actually going to be the end of season one. I feel like it’s fitting, considering all that is happening as we get ready to head back into the classroom. Season 2 we will be mixing things up, and the podcast will be airing every other week on Wednesdays. I don’t have a date for the premier episode yet but I promise you guys will be the first to know when I do!

And remember -- we are teachers! If anyone can handle this, it’s us!
